Introduction to Decorative Painting Tuesdays - Beverly
January 3, 10, 24 & 31 2006
10-12:30 or 6-8:30
It’s that time again, folks. Another great line up of classes to expand your painting talents. We have lots of good news going on at the EWE also.
We have a wonderful new series starting in January. Nutcrackers are the “in” thing now. On the second Monday of the month, day and evening, we will be having one of our talented teachers guiding you through the painting of a nutcracker or a smoker. Each teacher has chosen a different “character” to paint. We have everything from a pastry chef, to a fireman. One is cuter than the next. Stop in the shop on our big sale day, Dec. 17, 10-4, and see many of them on display. Also in the newsletter you will find a listing of each month with the date, teacher and “character” to be taught. We think we have chosen characters that will appeal to everyone. This will be a fun collection and they really are the “new” old thing.
We also have two new teachers on board. Both ladies have painted and taught for quite a while, but they have not taught here at the shop. One, who many of you may know, is Loretta Graf. Loretta lives in Delaware. Loretta loves painting with Ronnie Bringle and has offered to teach us some of Ronnie’s seminar pieces. Our other new teacher, also from Delaware, is Bonnie Rae. I have decided that Bonnie’s vocation is to breathe new life into decorative painting. She has brought us several exciting new techniques. Please make these ladies feel welcome.
Adding to our 2006 seminar schedule, Andy Jones is coming to paint with us in January. Andy’s pieces are here on display at the shop and also on the web. On Saturday & Sunday, January 14th/15th, Andy is teaching us a mallard duck decoy. It is adorned with strawberries and daisies. After painting, we will learn Andy’s technique of antiquing with water color. On Monday, January 16th Andy will teach a beautiful plate with a pear, grapes and leaves in the old world style. If you have never painted with Andy, you need to do yourself a favor and sign up for his class. He is not only a very talented man, he is wonderfully entertaining. You will have a fun relaxing class with this gentleman. Check out Andy’s web page www.creativehomepainting.com.
In February, Terry Brunner will be coming to teach. She is another very talented, fun teacher. Check out Terry’s webpage at www.designsbyterry.com. Terry has a wide range of designs, anything from very detailed houses to beautiful florals. I have not painted with Terry, but am certainly looking forward to taking her class.
In March Grand mom Stamilio is here with us. Susan & Tony Stamilio have become proud new grandparents (as of December 6th) to Ruby Katherine McCoy, courtesy of their daughter Amy and son-in-law Andrew. Susan will again be sharing brand new designs with us.
Once again, you need to grab yourself a coffee and a pencil and start
deciding on your “chase away the winter blues” classes. What better way to spend a cold dreary day?
Happy Painting,
Beverly, Sally and Bobbie
